UK features are set up by Lift AI for your company’s account, along with UK spelling and pounds sterling. You don’t turn them on yourself. If your company works in the UK and you see US terms such as “violation” and “certificate expiration”, contact Lift AI support. The Compliance features on this page are available to the consultant role.
UK terms
Across the app, UK accounts see:- Lift for elevator, car, or unit. The sidebar’s Elevators item reads Lifts.
- Defect for violation, including on Needs Attention, where an overdue one reads Defect overdue.
- Callout for callback, for example Callouts and Annualised Callout Rate.
- Examination for the LOLER thorough examination, in Last Examination and Next Examination.
- Overdue for an expired Inspection Status in the Lifts table.
Read the Lifts list
Select Lifts in the sidebar. Six tiles sit across the top:
Below the tiles, a defect analytics strip has three charts:
- Open vs. Closed Defects: defects opened and closed each month over the last 12 months.
- Open Defects by Severity: the defects open now, split into Category A (immediate risk), Category B (requires action), and Category C (observation). Open defects with no category show as Uncategorised.
- Upcoming Defect Due Dates: open defects due in the next 90 days, grouped as 14 days or less, 15–45 days, and 46–90 days. Overdue defects and category C defects aren’t included.
Record an examination report
Add a LOLER report the same way as any inspection report: select Upload Document in the sidebar, then use Upload & tag (tag the page as Inspection Report) or Add manually (the Inspection Report tile). See Add and review an inspection report. For UK accounts, the form replaces Status with the LOLER fields:
Inspector Name is optional, as it is for every account.
How reports update the lift:
- Last Examination is the Date of Inspection of the lift’s most recent report by inspection date, so entering an older report doesn’t change it. That includes an NV report: it records an examination attempt, so Last Examination shows its date even though the lift wasn’t examined.
- Next Examination is the Next Inspection Due from the most recent report that states one. A report without that date, such as an NV report when the lift wasn’t available, doesn’t reset it: the lift stays due against the date its last full examination set.
- A report coded OK, BD, or AN with a Next Inspection Due after the inspection date also updates the lift’s certificate to expire on that date, which sets its Inspection Status.
The guided review for reports Lift AI reads through AI pipeline doesn’t have the LOLER fields or defect categories. To record them, use Upload & tag or Add manually.
Defect categories
Each defect can carry a category, set with the Severity field when you add a defect on the report form or with Add defect on the lift’s Compliance tab:
The category is optional, and so is the code. Date Open and a Description are required; in the Add defect dialog the description needs at least 10 characters.
Category C defects are recorded but not chased. With no due date, they never go overdue, never appear in Needs Attention, and aren’t counted in Defects due within 7 days or the upcoming due dates chart. They still count in Open Defects and in the severity chart until you resolve them.
On the lift’s Compliance tab, each defect shows a Category A, Category B, or Category C chip. Hover over it for its meaning. To resolve a defect, see Resolve a violation; for a UK account the dialog asks “How was this defect resolved?” and the button reads Resolve Defect.
