Resolving a violation records how a unit’s compliance issue was corrected and closes it out. Use this article to mark a violation resolved, choose a resolution type, and attach supporting paperwork.
Resolving violations is available to the consultant role.

Open the unit’s violations

Open Compliance, find the unit, and select its name to open the compliance panel. The Open Violations section lists the unit’s unresolved violations, each showing its responsibility, location, code, description, Date Open, and Correction Due date.
Select Show Resolved to also see violations that are already closed. Resolved items appear dimmed and labeled with how they were resolved.

Resolve the violation

1

Start the resolution

On the violation, select Resolve. A “How was this violation resolved?” dialog opens, showing the violation’s open date, responsibility, location, code, and description for reference.
2

Choose a resolution type

Pick one: Resolved by Reinspection, Resolved by Affidavit, Resolved by Waiver, or Other. If you pick Other, enter a custom resolution type.
3

Add a resolution comment

Enter a resolution comment describing how the issue was corrected. This is required (up to 500 characters).
4

Attach a correction affidavit (optional)

Optionally upload a supporting PDF (up to 5 MB), such as a correction affidavit.
5

Submit

Select Resolve Violation. A confirmation appears and the violation moves to resolved.

After resolving

The violation now shows a Resolved marker with its resolution date, and the line reads “Resolution: Resolved by” the type you chose. The unit’s Open Violations count drops and its Closed Violations count rises on the compliance dashboard.
