# Download a ticket's file

> How to get the source document attached to a ticket.

When a ticket has a document attached — such as the service report or work order it was created from — you can download that file directly from the ticket. Use this article to find and download it.

<Note>
  Downloading a ticket's file is available to the **consultant** and **client** roles.
</Note>

## Download the file

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Tickets page">
    Select **Tickets** in the navigation and find the ticket you want. See [Browse and search service tickets](/tickets/browse-tickets).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Expand the ticket">
    Select the row to expand it and reveal the full ticket details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download from the File entry">
    In the **File** entry, select **Download** to get the attached document.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  If a ticket has no attached document, the **File** entry shows a dash (`-`) instead of a download link. Not every ticket has a source file — see [Add attachments to a ticket](/tickets/ticket-attachments).
</Note>

<Tip>
  Depending on your browser, the file may open in a new tab rather than saving directly. If that happens, use your browser's own download control to save it.
