# Edit lift (elevator) details

> How to update a lift's information from the Edit dialog on a property's Elevators tab.

You can correct or fill in a lift's (elevator's) information — its name, specifications, compliance test dates, and more — directly from the property's Elevators tab.

<Note>
  Editing a lift is limited to the **consultant** role. The Elevators tab where you edit lifts is on a property's detail page, which only consultants can open. If you don't see the edit action, your role doesn't have edit access.
</Note>

<Tip>
  Keeping compliance test dates (CAT-1, CAT-5, SSPI) current here keeps the Compliance views accurate. See [Compliance dashboard](/compliance/compliance-dashboard).
