# Search across your portfolio with the command palette

> How to press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K) to jump to any property, lift, ticket, contract, or invoice.

The command palette is a single search box that finds anything in your portfolio — a property, a lift, a ticket, a contract, or an invoice — and takes you straight to it. Open it from anywhere with a keyboard shortcut, type a few characters, and select a result to jump there.

<Note>
  The command palette is available to the **consultant** role. Other roles do not have universal search in the top bar.
</Note>

## Open the palette

<Steps>
  <Step title="Press the keyboard shortcut">
    Press **Cmd+K** on a Mac or **Ctrl+K** on Windows from any page. You can also select the **Search** box in the top bar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Type what you're looking for">
    Start typing a property name, lift, ticket number, contract name, or invoice number. Results appear as you type, grouped by type.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a result">
    Use the arrow keys and **Enter**, or click a result, to open it. The palette closes and navigates you there.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What it searches

The palette searches across five types of records:

| Type | What you can search by |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **Properties** | Property name                            |
| **Lifts** | Lift name (shown with its property) |
| **Tickets** | Ticket number (shown with its property) |
| **Contracts** | Contract name (shown with its property) |
| **Invoices** | Invoice number (shown with its property) |

To narrow the list, select a category chip — **All**, **Properties**, **Lifts**, **Tickets**, **Contracts**, or **Invoices** — below the search box.

<Tip>
  If you don't have a name or number handy, scope your dashboards with the [top-bar filters](/navigation/global-filters) instead, or open a section directly with the palette's [navigation actions](/navigation/quick-actions).
